TOO MUCH TO SAY “I LOVE YOU”

  • Feb 7, 2018
  • 1 min read

Je t'aime Te amo Aishiteru Ani ohevet othka, I love you

The sounds are all as different As the lands from which they came And though our words are all unique Our hearts are still the same

(Sandi Patty)

“I love you” is the most comprehensible and powerful phrase that even distance and language cannot interfere. We don’t need these to be translated because it was the heart that understands the heart of someone in love. It might sound different from place to place but, the meaning is all the same.

As part of our Valentine’s day celebration of the Dominican Learning Resource Center, we encourage the multilingualism of all students, faculty members, and staff to say “I love you” in other languages. Share your knowledge in languages on the DLRC’s knowledge exchange wall.
